This first HD photo shows the statue of Guerrier Assis, which in English translates to Seated Warrior, and sculpted in stone, this was first put in place on the former Palais du Louvre back in 1868.
Here you can see a close up photo of the Seated Warrior statue that was produced by Jean Joseph Perraud, who was born in 1819 to a peasant family within the Jura area of France, and by the age of fifteen he was an apprentice carpenter and decorator.
Yet things changed dramatically after entering the Ecode des Beaux Arts in Lyon, and then, having received a scholarship, Jean Joseph Perraud moved to Paris a year later in 1841, studying under Etienne Jules Ramey and Augustin Alexandre Dumont to become a French sculptor, even winning the Prix de Rome in 1847.
Upon his return from the French Academy in Rome at the Villa Medici, Jean Joseph Perraud received numerous public commissions from the French state, working on statues and sculptures for tourist attractions such as the Palais Garnier, Tour Saint Jacques, Day within the Jardin Marco Polo and of course the Guerrier Assis for The Louvre.
But this photograph shows the location of the Guerrier Assis, which is on the third level balustrade of Pavillon de Tremoille north facade on the left hand side, which can be seen from the courtyard of the Louvre Museum called the Cour du Carrousel, as you are looking towards the River Seine.
