We were at the Palais de Chaillot in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris when we took these high definition photos showing the sculpture called L'Art de la forge, which was sculpted by Louis Berthola.

Located on a facade of the Palais de Chaillot on the north eastern wing, this first HD photo shows the bas relief sculpture called L'Art de la forge, which in English translates to The Art of Forging.

So here is close up photo showing the top section of the male figure who is holding some form of metal such as iron and on either side of his head at the top of the bas relief, you can see the sculptural detail depicting the smoke that would come from forging.

You will find that because you are standing within the Jardins du Trocadero when you see these sculptures on the facades of the Palais de Chaillot, often they can be obscured by trees and easily missed, just as you can see here, yet these are other attractions from French sculptors.

But this close up photo shows the name of the artist that produced this bas relief called L'Art de la forge, which was by Louis Berthola who was born in Italy in 1891, yet moving to France he was even a winner of the Prix de Rome in 1923.

And although studying at the School of Fine Arts in Lyon, where he became a professor in later years and most of his works being found within this city of France, he also had public commissions for other monuments and sculptures in Paris as well.
