This first HD photo shows an allegorical statue called La Renaissance with different features all related to this period of history, and this was sculpted in stone for the former Palais du Louvre after the plaster model had been approved by the architect overseeing the renovations to this palace.
Now this Renaissance statue was produced by Louis Eugene Bion who was born in Paris in 1807 and becoming a French sculptor he focused mainly on religious works, yet not only did he produce this statue for The Louvre, but also another depicting a young child with attributes for a different wing of this famous historical monument, both between the years of 1855 and 1857.
However, here you can see the location of this statue positioned on the third level balustrade by the roof line of the Aile Mollien, and when you are looking at this facade from the Cour Napoleon courtyard, you will see that this is the seventh statue from the left hand side of the wing.
