This first HD photo shows the statue called La Vendange, which in English translates to The Harvest, and you can see some of the attributes relating to this allegory with the young boy, known as one of the geniuses that was put in place in 1857.
And this particular statue is located on the Rotonde de Beavais wing, on the top level of the facade by the roof line, which can be seen fourth from the left hand side as you are looking at the wing of the former Palais du Louvre from the Cour Napoleon courtyard.
Now you will find that La Vendange was sculpted by Aime Napoleon Perrey who was born in the November of 1813 and studying to be a French sculptor his first exhibit was at the 1848 Salon for French artists, and from there he started to receive several commissions.
Aime Napoleon Perrey worked on embellishments for many different churches along with knights for the Hotel de Ville in Paris, and as well as The Harvest, he was also commissioned for other statues and reliefs for the facades of The Louvre museum.
