This first HD photo shows a modern art sculpture called Manus Ultimus, which was cast in bronze in 1997, and then installed within the Tuileries Garden next to a pond in the year 2000.
You will find that this statue was sculpted by Magdalena Abakanowicz, who was born in Poland in the year 1930, and became an artist and sculptor, initially working with materials such as sack cloth and linen, but in more recent years started to use other materials such as wood, metal and bronze.
So this photograph shows that the Manus Ultimus contemporary art sculpture could look like a tree, or from a different point of view it could be a hand, wrist and arm, and in fact, this composition was based upon an earlier series that Magdalene Abakanowicz sculpted, which was called the Hand-Like Trees.
Yet prior to producing this particular modern art statue of Manus Ultimus, located within the Tuileries Gardens in Paris, Magdalena Abakanowicz produced an enormous work that was just called Manus, which is now located in Washington, USA.
In fact, Magdalena Abakanowicz, has become such as renowned sculptor that her works can be found in numerous different cities throughout the world, and having even been a professor at the fine arts academy in Poland, she has one won numerous awards such as the Grand Prix of Sao Paulo in Brazil and been decorated with many honours including being an Officier de L' Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in Paris, France.
Now here you can see a view we took from the main allee of the Tuileries Gardens called the Allee Centrale, as we were looking towards the statue of Manus Ultimus with the pretty pond behind.
But here you can see a view looking over the pond towards the modern art sculpture of Manus Ultimus and the hundreds of people around, that were visiting this historical former royal garden and popular tourist attraction in Paris.
And here you can see the tourist information plaque located on the ground next to this modern art sculpture and as you can see, it states that this is a deposit within the fund of the National Contemporary Art through the Minister of Culture and Communication in Paris.
