This first HD photo shows a statue called La Fortune which is an allegory that was initially produced as a plaster model, then when this was accepted by the architect in charge of the renovations on the Palais du Louvre, it was then produced in stone between the years of 1855 and 1857.
However, here you can see a close up photograph showing some of the detailing of this wing child surrounded by attributes relating to Fortune, which is more like good fortune, like the staff with the names symbolising medicine or health and the boy holding fruits in his hand, and this was sculpted by Etienne Montagny who was born in 1816 and became a painter and sculptor.
But here you can see La Fortune positioned on the balustrade of the Aile Mollien and when you are looking at the facade of the Louvre Museum from the courtyard called the Cour Napoleon, you will find this stone statue positioned second from the left hand side by the roof of this wing.
