This first HD photo shows the statue called L'Architecture, which is an allegory depicting a gentlemen sitting holding a model that looks like part of a building or even a pedestal for a large monument, and in his right hand is an architectural instrument used in design.
So, The Architecture statue can be found on the right hand side of the Pavillon Lesdiguieres by the roof line next to the Guichet Lesdiguieres, which is where you will find three arches that allow you to pass through a wing of the Musee du Louvre to get to the River Seine.
Now L'Architecture was produced by Augustin Dumont, who was born into a family of sculptors in 1801 with a full name of Augustin Alexandre Dumont, and initially starting to study sculpture under his father Jacques Edme Dumont, he then entered the Ecole des Beaux Arts studying under Pierre Cartellier.
Having won the Prix de Rome, Augustin Dumont furthered his studies at the French Academy at the Villa Medici in Rome before returning to Paris where he received numerous commissions for different monuments, sculptures and statues.
In fact, there are numerous statues sculpted by Augustin Dumont that can be found on tourist attractions all over Paris such as the golden statue on the July Column, along with statues for the Palais de Justice, Jardin du Luxembourg, the Madeleine church, the Louvre Museum and many more.
