This first HD photo shows the statue called L'Autumne, which was designed as an allegory depicting Autumn, and when you are within the courtyard called the Cour Napoleon you can view this on the Aile Turgot wing.
Now this particular statue was one of hundreds that were put in place during the restoration works of the former Palais du Louvre, and you will find the statue of The Autumn located on the roof line of the Aile Turgot third from the right hand side of this wing.
Yet in this close up photo you can see the detailing that went into L'Automne allegorical statue showing different aspects of when certain crops would have been harvested at this time of year, which was sculpted by Louis Felix Chabaud.
And Louis Felix Chabaud was born in the South of France at a place called Venelles, yet he went to Paris to study to become a French sculptor, engraver and medallist, and won the Prix de Rome for engraving, which meant he was able to further his studies at the Villa Medici in Rome.
So, upon his return he received numerous public commissions including this statue for The Louvre, but there were many sculptures, statues and busts of composers he executed for Palais Garnier Opera House, which is another famous tourist attraction in Paris, although Louis felix Chabaud retired back to his home town where he passed away in 1902.
