This first photograph shows L'Amerique statue, which in English translates to The America or The American, and was designed in stone as an allegory representing America, that was put in place in 1857 during the restoration of the Palais du Louvre.
So, this next close up photo shows the statue located on the roof line of the Aile Turgot of the Musee du Louvre by one of the chimneys, and this can be viewed from the Cour Napoleon courtyard, and is positioned as the second allegorical statue from the right hand side of this wing.
And L'Amerique was sculpted by Louis Veray who was born in 1820 and started presenting works at Salons for French artists, which meant he received several public commissions including another sculpture for The Louvre as well, with the plaster version of this being held at another famous museum in Paris called the Musee d'Orsay.
