HD photographs of ornate bronze plaque on the Pont Alexandre III NW Side - Page 579
We were again at the Pont Alexandre III when we took these high definition photos of the bronze plaque located on the North West side of the bridge over the River Seine in Paris.

This first HD photo shows the outside edge of the shield style plaque on the balustrade of the Pont Alexandre III, which was made of bronze and put in place for when the bridge was first opened for the Universal exhibition in Paris, and there is another virtually the same on the opposite side of the parapet.
However, this photograph shows a close up of the gilding including the golden colouring of the animal head at the top of the ornate plaque, which looks like a lions head, and this is located close to the right bank in the 8th Arrondissement on the downstream side of the bridge parapet.
Yet this last image shows the inscription on this plaque, which is sometimes referred to as a date stone, and as you can tell, above the name of the bridge, being Pont Alexandre III, it has the date 1897, which is when construction started, and below is the year 1900, which is when this was completed and officially inaugurated.
