This first photo shows a close up of the modern monument to children of the 1st Arrondissement, which is made of stainless steel with a glass panel, and as you can see, there are two children's hands at the top, followed by an inscription, then a list of five names and at the very bottom it shows the date when this was put in place, being 28th November 2013.
So when it comes to the inscription, this generally translates in English to:
Arrested by the police of the Vichy government, accomplices of Nazi occupation, more than 11,000 children were deported from France in 1942 to 1944 to Auschwitz and murdered because they were Jews.
Many of them lived in Paris in the 1st Arrondissement, among them 5 "Toddlers" had not had time to enter school.
Incidentally, Their name, your memory is their only burial.
Never forget
Now this last photo shows the entire small garden with the monument, which is surrounded by a small fence stopping people from trampling the grass or flowerbeds, and this was laid out when the monument was put in place, yet officially inaugurated on 22nd January 2014, with the name Square Michel Caldagues, dedicated to a former mayor of Paris.
But to give you even more of an idea as to its location, it is situated very close to the mayors office and the historical Eglise Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois church, at the Place du Louvre, which would be to the right of the image, whereas to the left over the road is the Musee du Louvre and its courtyard called the Cour Carree.
