This first HD photo shows the statue group called L'Art Assyrien, which in English translates to Assyrian Art, and this can be found on the top level by the roof line on the former Palais du Louvre in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, and was put in place in 1857.
Now the statue group was made of stone and produced by Jean Louis Jaley, who was born in 1802 and initially studied under his father to become a French sculptor being awarded the Prix de Rome in 1827.
Unfortunately his career was actually quite short, passing away in 1866, yet Jean Louis Jaley received several public commissions for statues on The Louvre, the Gare du Nord, etc, plus some of his sculptures can be found within this famous tourist attraction of the Musee du Louvre, along with others that are either in or on buildings around Paris.
