HD photographs of the Castor statue on Aile de Flore at Musee du Louvre - Page 430
We were again in the Cour du Carrousel of the Musee du Louvre located in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, when we took these high definition photos showing the statue called Castor by Jean Claude Petit.

Now you will find this statue of Castor located on the Aile de Flore wing of the former Palais du Louvre, and put in place in 1866, this is positioned on the first level, and as you are looking at the facade of this famous tourist attraction in Paris, you will find it sixth from the right hand side.
So, Castor is actually a twin in Greek and Roman mythology, and he was the mortal son of Tyndareus, the King of Sparta and his mother was Leda, yet his brother was from Zeus and together they are known as Dioskouri, or Gemini in Latin.
And this stone statue was produced by Jean Claude Petit, who was born in 1819 and became a French sculptor, and he also received other commissions for decorative embellishments around the city, including another statue on The Louvre depicting one of the famous men in the history of France called Charles Le Brun.
