Now as you are in the courtyard looking towards the Aile Henri IV wing, which is the facade situated to the left hand side of the Pavillon Sully, you will find this stone statue of Pierre Mignard located on the first level balustrade, second from the right hand side, and this was sculpted in 1853 and put in place with the others in 1857.
So, the stone statue you can see in this HD photo was produced by Jean-Baptiste Joseph Debay, who is also referred to as Jean Debay the Younger, and born in 1802, he became a French sculptor receiving numerous public commissions for statues including some for the Palais du Louvre, Madeleine church in Paris, etc.
In this last image you can see the inscription on the base of the statue representing Pierre Mignard who was born in Troyes in November 1612, and was often called Le Romain to distinguish himself from other members of the family who were artists, and he himself became a painter.
And in 1630 he left for Italy, where he spent 22 years, but gaining a high reputation was requested back to France and Paris by King Louis XIV, where he concentrated on portrait pictures of famous people such as Moliere, Bossuet, although he was also commissioned for other paintings such as the cupola of Les Invalides, yet passed away in Paris just as he was about to start work on this project.
