Although we were in the Cour du Carrousel, the statue is actually classed as on the wing located within the courtyard called the Cour Napoleon, and in this high definition photo you can see it is located on the first level balustrade on the facade of the Aile en retour Mollien, and it was placed in position in 1857 to the very left next to the Pavillon Mollien.
Now this next image again shows the full statue of Pierre Lescot, which was sculpted by Henry Triqueti who became a French sculptor and produced famous works for both England in the United Kingdom and France, especially in Paris.
Yet he is also known as Baron Henri-Joseph-Francois de Triqueti or another version is Henri de Triquety, but all the same sculptor and artist, who used to present at Paris Salons and had an illustrious career both abroad and in France, before passing away in Paris in 1874.
And in this last photo you can see the base of the statue on the former Palais du Louvre, which is dedicated to Pierre Lescot who was born in Paris and ended up being an architect working for King Francois I and transforming the old Louvre castle into a chateau back in the 1500s.
In fact, within the Cour Carree you can still admire the Aile Lescot, or Lescot wing, which is the south east wing of the Palais du Louvre that he worked on until his passed away in around 1578, plus you can admire the oldest fountain in Paris called the Fontaine des Innocents that Pierre Lescot designed and was sculpted by Jean Goujon, whom he also worked with on The Louvre during the reign of King Henri II, the successor of King Francois I.
