This is a close up photo we took of an allegory statue on The Louvre called La Marine that is located by the roof line on the Pavillon des Etats, which is within the Cour du Carrousel, and can be seen as though you are standing in the courtyard looking in the direction of the River Seine.

1868 La Marine statue by Henri Maniglier

And this statue known as an allegory called The Marine was produced by the French sculptor Henri Charles Maniglier in 1868, and having previously won a Prix de Rome, he was commissioned for numerous statues on the Louvre and other buildings like the Opera Garnier, plus was even awarded the title of Chevalier of the Legion of Honour.
