In this first photo you can see a front view of the bronze statue of Hubert Lyautey, whose full name was Louis Hubert Gonzalve Lyautey, and positioned on a large pedestal, as you can see in this image, there was a pigeon perched on his head at the time we took this photo.
Now this statue of Lyautey is located within a small triangular square along Avenue de Tourville, Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg and Place Denys Cochin, which is within the 7th Arrondissement of Paris very close to Les Invalides.
With this close up photo you can see the inscription located on the pedestal of the Hubert Lyautey statue, who was given a title of Marshal of France, although he was also a French army general that served in places such as Madagascar and Morocco, and the dates shown are when he was born in 1854, and passed away in 1934.
Also, this particular statue of Hubert Lyautey in military dress was sculpted by the artist Francois Cogne, but this was only positioned within Place Denys Cochin in 1985 in order to replace a previous statue of General Mangin that was destroyed during World War II, and if you look carefully at the image, you can even see the details of the medals he was adorned with.
