In between the pillars on the second level of the Natural History Museum in Paris, you will find there are stone bust statues that have been sculpted to depict specific people who had an influence here, and these HD photos show the bust of Buffon, which is located on the left hand side of the building as you are looking at its main facade.

The next image ia a close up photo that shows the stone bust statue of Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon, who was just known as Buffon, and a French naturalist born in 1707, he was the director at the Jardin du Roi, which is now called the Jardin des Plantes, and as you can also see from this image, he died in the year 1788, yet with his published works, Buffon was influential on the next generations of naturalists.
And you can visit these bust sculptures located on the Museum National de l'Histoire Naturelle, which is located in the 5th Arrondissement of Paris inside the Jardin des Plantes, but to see these you would need to head to the western end of the garden close to the Rue Geoffrey Saint-Hilaire, which is the opposite side to the River Seine and the nearest Metro station to here is the Place Monge stop that serves line 7.
