In these HD photos you can see a bust style stone statue of Lamarck that we took while looking at the facade of the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle and positioned on the right hand side on the second level below the window, his full name was actually Jean-Baptiste Pierre Antoine de Monet, Chevalier de Lamarck, but was normally known as just de Lamarck.

This close up HD photo below shows an inscription around the bust with de Lamarck on the top part along with the date of birth and death of this biologist, which was 1744 - 1829, and he was appointed to the Chair of Botany at Jardin des Plantes, then became a professor of zoology with one of his recognised major works published a few years later called the Systeme des Animaux Sans Vertebres, where he classified invertebrates.
And if you would like to visit these sculpture style bust statues, you will find them on the facade of the Museum National de l'Histoire Naturelle, which is located in the 5th Arrondissement of Paris inside the Jardin des Plantes and the building is situated towards the western end of the garden close to the Rue Geoffrey Saint-Hilaire, with the closest Metro station being the Place Monge stop on line 7.
