This particular marble statue in Paris was produced in 1810 by the artist and sculptor Charles Dupaty who was born in Bordeaux but lived and worked for many years in Paris, and today you can find many of his statues around the city including the one you can see in this photo within the Jardin des Plantes.
Also, as you can see from these photos, the Venus Genitrix statue has a lot of different rose plants close by, including its own ornate stone plant pot sitting at the back of the statue, which is due to the fact that it is located within the Jardin Roseraie, or rose garden in English.
To discover the Venus Genetrix statue for yourself, it is located on the east side of the botanical gardens in the Roseraie section of the Jardin des Plantes, which is within the 5th Arrondissement of Paris only a short walk away from the Gare d’Austerlitz train station and the River Seine.
