Etienne Martin was a French sculptor who designed a series of large bronze statues and sculptures called the Demeures that he first started in the 1950s and were produced by his inspiration of empty spaces delimited by volume, and this is a photo we took of the sculpture called Demeurre 1, that took between the years of 1954 and 1958 to complete.
This is a close up high definition photo of the Demeure 1 sculpture, which is made of bronze and is designed like empty spaces or buildings that is located within the Musee de la Sculpture en Plein Air, and Demeure basically translates in English to Dwelling, yet there are other large statues in Paris by the same sculptor you can discover including another from the same series called Demeure 10 in the Parc de Bercy.
Now the Musee de la Sculpture en Plein Air is a free open air museum in Paris located at the Quai Saint-Bernard in the Jardin Tino Rossi, and as you can see in this image, there were plenty of people relaxing by an amphitheatre alongside the abstract statues and sculptures like the Demeurre 1 that are all located right by the River Seine.
Here you can see a close up photo of the plaque that was fixed to the base of a statue, and as you can tell from this image, it was produced by Etienne-Martin, who was born in 1913, but with a full name of Henri Etienne Martin, he died in Paris in 1995, and as mentioned before, the bornze sculpture is called Demeurre 1, although sometimes this gets spelt Demeure 1.
