In the above photograph you can see the bronze statue sitting along the north west side of the Galeries d'Anatomie Comparee et de Paleontologie building that also houses dinosaur skeletons and much, much more.
In this photo we took you can see the front of the bronze statue with its detailed work that was produced by the French artist Paul Richter back in 1890, yet incredibly he was also a noted doctor.
This is a close up photo we took showing the inscription carved onto the base of the statue, which states Premier Artiste, or first artist as this translates to in English, and the next part underneath generally says carved of the stone age.
These next photos show the left and right hand sides of the bronze Stone Age statue, and this sculpture is located within a private garden section of the Galeries of Comparative Anatomy and Palaeontology, and at the time we were visiting this could only be viewed by looking through gaps within the hedges standing next to the metal railing fence.
And if you would like to visit this bronze statue by Paul Richter, it is located on the south side of the botanical gardens called the Jardin des Plantes, which is only a short walk from the Gare d'Austerlitz train station that serves the Paris Metro line 5.
