While we were at the Musee du Louvre in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, we took these high definition photos showing a statue called Groupe d'Animaux located on the Aile de Marsan, which was sculpted by Emmanuel Fremiet.

It was during the major restoration works undertaken at the former Palais du Louvre in the 1800s that numerous decorations were added to the facades and many famous sculptors were commissioned to produce different statues and sculptures, such as this one called a Groupe d'Animaux, which in English translates to Group of Animals.
So this next HD photo shows a close up of the Group of Animals statue with two dogs on collars and chains positioned either side of a globe with stars on it and a star on top, which was produced by Emmanuel Fremiet, who was born in 1824 and studied under people such as Francois rude to become a French sculptor.
Emmanuel Fremiet started off producing small items in materials such as bronze, mainly specialising in animal sculpture, especially those of domestic animals such as dogs and horses, which progressed into larger works over time, with some of his most famous pieces being those of the equestrian statue of Louis d'Orleans at the Chateau de Pierrefonds and the gilded equestrian statue of Joan of Arc at the Place des Pyramides in Paris close to The Louvre.
However, this photograph shows the position of the Groupe d'Animaux statue positioned above a bas relief on the third level of the Aile de Marsan, and when you are standing in the courtyard of the Louvre Museum called the Cour du Carrousel, you can see this below the second pediment to the right hand side of the window on this wing, which is almost identical to one of the statues by Emmnuel Fremiet on the Aile de Flore facade.
