Located within an alcove on a wing of the Louvre Museum called the Aile de Rohan-Rivoli, which is on the outer facade facing the Rue de Rivoli, this first HD photo shows a statue depicting Charles Marie Denys, Count de Damremont.
Now this particular statue depicting a general of the French army was produced by the sculptor Henri Paul Graf who was born in 1872 and passed away in 1947 and according to some records, this was put in place in 1924.
Here you can see the plaque located on the pedestal base of the statue depicting Damremont who was born in 1783 with a full name of Charles Marie Denys, Count de Damremont, and entering military school, he fought in many different campaigns, eventually working his way up the ranks and becoming governor general of French-Algeria.
Unfortunately, while commanding an expedition against Constantine, Damremont was fatally hit in the head by a bullet, but due to his recognition, was brought back to Paris and laid to rest within Les Invalides after an impressive ceremony, which saw the premier of the Requium by Hector Berlioz.
This statue of the Count de Damremont is located on the first level of the Aile de Rohan-Rivoli within an alcove positioned between two windows, and as you can see here the banners either side are advertising the restaurant and one of the museums contained within this particular wing of The Louvre.
