HD photographs of Duc d'Aumale statue on Aile de Rohan-Rivoli at Musee du Louvre - Page 1175
We were in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris at the Musee du Louvre, when we took these high definition photos showing a statue depicting Duc d'Aumale, which was sculpted by Leo Roussel.

This first HD photo shows the statue of Duc d'Aumale located within an alcove on a facade of the famous Louvre Museum, which is the wing called the Aile de Rohan-Rivoli and can be found along the Rue de Rivoli on the opposite side of the Jardins du Carrousel.
So here you can see a close up depicting the duke, which was produced by the French sculptor Leo Roussel who was born in 1868 and passed away in 1943, and this particular statue was positioned on the facade of The Louvre back in 1921.
Officially named Henri Eugene Philippe Louis d'Orleans, he was the fifth son of King Louis Philippe I born in January 1822 in the Palais Royal in Paris only a couple of minutes walk from this statue, yet he was always referred to as Duc d'Aumale, which in English translates to the title of Duke of Aumale, and hence what is inscribed on the plaque.
Inheriting a large fortunate at the early age of eight, Duc d'Aumale eventually went into the army, and although married with children they passed away before him, so having no heirs, within his will he bequeathed the fabulous Chateau de Chantilly to the state providing it was to be turned into a museum, which people can still visit today.
Here you can see the statue of Duc d'Aumale positioned on the first level within the alcove to the left hand side of the entrance to Les Arts Decoratifs, which is one of the museums contained within the Aile de Rohan-Rivoli wing of The Louvre.
