HD photographs of Nymphe Marine statue on Nymphe Marine fountain in Paris - Page 1146
While we were admiring a fountain called the Fontaine du Theatre-Francaise in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, we took these high definition photos showing a statue on the top called Nymphe Marine, which was sculpted by Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse.

Positioned right by the Comedie Francaise Theatre in Paris, this first HD photo shows a bronze statue located on top of a fountain called the Nymphe Marine, which is an allegorical statue depicting a female figure for marine life, and this is on one of the two fountains known as the Fontaines du Theatre-Francais.
So here you can see a close up of the Nymphe Marine statue, which was produced by Albert-Ernest Carrier de Belleuse, known as Carrier-Belleuse, who was born in 1824, became a prolific artist and sculptor, working the majority of his life in Paris, whilst also receiving many students within his own workshop including those that were to become major sculptors themselves such as Auguste Rodin.
And it was actually during the redevelopment of Paris by Baron Haussmann that many different decorations and embellishments were added throughout the city, many of which were designed by Gabriel Davioud, who was born in 1823 and became an architect, eventually appointed Inspector General of Architectural Works and then Chief Architect.
And although the Fontaines du Theatre-Francais were designed by Gabriel Davioud, he commissioned different sculptors to produce the end results of the statuary including this Marine Nymph by Carrier-Belleuse located on the top of one particular fountain, which was put in place in 1874.
So here you can see the entire fountain and as we mentioned earlier this is one of the two Fontaines du Theatre-Francais, with this one being the Nymphe Marine that is located on the Place Andre-Malraux in the 1st Arrondissement, which is positioned in the square between the Rue Saint Honore and the Avenue de l'Opera.
