This first HD photo shows a bas relief depicting a female figure holding a scythe and sheaf of wheat, which are often allegorical features depicting abundance, however, we have seen that some sources state this sculpture is called La Paix, that translates to The Peace in English.
Here you can see a close up of the bas relief, which was sculpted by Frederic Louis Desire Bogino who was born in 1831 and entered the Ecole des Beaux Arts studying under people such as Francois Jouffroy in order to become a French sculptor.
Starting to present works from the 1853 Salon for French artists he received several public commissions for statues and sculptures that can be seen at different tourist attractions in Paris including this and others for The Louvre, the Eglise Saint Roch, Hotel de Ville and the Palais Garnier Opera House.
But getting back to this bas relief of La Paix, as you can see, this is positioned to the right hand side of the eighth window on the third level of the Aile de Marsan below the pediment, and put in place on the former Palais du Louvre in the 1870s, this facade can be seen from the courtyard called the Cour du Carrousel.
