Photographs of 4th window RHS bas relief sculpture on Aile de Flore at Musee du Louvre - Page 1075
While we were admiring the ornate facade of the Aile de Flore at the Musee du Louvre in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, we took these high definition photos showing a bas relief, which was sculpted by Jules Franceschi.

Unfortunately we have been unable to find out what this particular sculpture is called, but referred to as a bas relief, which in English is a low relief, this is positioned on the third level of the Aile de Flore.
So when you are looking at this wing of the former Palais du Louvre from the Courtyard called the Cour du Carrousel, you will see that this is located to the right hand side of the fourth window when counting along from the left.
This next HD photo shows a close up of the bas relief with its fine detailing, which was sculpted by Jules Franceschi, as he was known, although he was born in 1825 with a name of Louis Julien Franceschi and initially studied in Besancon to become a French sculptor, prior to entering the studio of Francois Rude.
Jules Franceschi was most recognised for his portrait style statues and busts, and some of these can be seen on tourist attractions around Paris including on the facades of The Louvre and the Hotel de Ville, yet as you can tell, he also produced different sculptures and presented many works at the Salons for French artists, winning awards along the way.
