Now this first HD photo shows the statue of L'Ete located on the balustrade at the top by the roof line of the Aile Daru wing of the former Palais du Louvre, which was put in place along with hundreds of other embellishments during the 1850s
So, L'Ete is actually an allegorical statue that was designed to represent The Summer, and when you are looking at the facade of this popular tourist attraction in Paris from the courtyard called the Cour Napoleon, you will see that this is the second statue from the left hand side.
You will find that there were numerous different sculptors commissioned to add statues and other architectural details such as reliefs in pediments and caryatids supporting these, many of which were famous artists of their time, yet this particular statue was sculpted by an artist named Olesinski, but unfortunately we have not found out any details about the person.
