La Force is an allegorical statue that was placed on the facade of the Aile Daru wing of the former Palais du Louvre, and when you are in the courtyard called the Cour Napoleon you will see this statue on the balustrade of the top level by the roof line, which is positioned fourth from the left hand side.
This statue of La Force was produced by Francois Chirstophe Armand Toussaint, although he was normally known as just Armand Toussaint, and born in Paris in 1806, he studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts under David d'Angers to become a French sculptor.
Francois Chirstophe Armand Toussaint was very well respected and received numerous different commissions for statues on tourist attractions such as the Musee du Louvre, the Palais de Justice and several churches including the famous Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral, yet he even became a professor at the fine arts school where he had studied, thereby passing on his knowledge and expertise to others, working up until shortly before passing away in 1862.
