This first HD photo shows the statue of Sainte Clotilde who was the wife of King Clovis and converting him to Christianity together they founded the Merovingian dynasty, and through her almsgiving and founding churches such as the Abbey of Saint Genevieve she was venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church.
Here you can see a close up of the statue of Saint Clotilde, which was sculpted by Pierre Loison who was born in 1816, initially apprenticing as a clog maker before obtaining a grant allowing him to study in Paris to become a French sculptor.
Gaining many medals throughout his career, Pierre Loison received several public commissions for The Louvre along with other tourist attractions such as the Palais Garnier Opera House, Hotel de Ville and of course this one for the Eglise Saint-Roch.
Now the Eglise Saint-Roch was originally started to be constructed in the mid 1600s, yet it was not finished until the mid 1700s, however, it was during the 1800s that numerous embellishments and external decorations were added to many buildings in Paris, including this one of Saint Clotilde, and in Roman Catholic religion her feast day is 4th June.
Yet here you can see the position of the Saint Clotilde statue positioned between the columns to the left had side of the clock of the Saint-Roch Church, which is located on the Rue Saint-Honore in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris.
