So this first HD photo shows the allegorical statue called L'Art Egyptian, which in English translates to Egyptian Art, and this is located on the balustrades of the top level of the Aile Daru by the roof line of the former Palais du Louvre, and as you are looking up at the facade from the Cour Napoleon courtyard, this is positioned as the third statue from the right hand side.
Now this next close up image shows the detailing that went into this stone allegory of L'Art Egyptien including a pharaoh mask, which was produced by Francois Gaspard Aime Lanno who was born in 1800, and initially studying in his home town of Rennes, he was then admitted into the ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, winning the Prix de Rome a few years later.
And upon his return from the French Academy in Rome Francois Gaspard Aime Lanno started to receive different public commissions including this one of Egyptian Art and several other statues for the Musee du Louvre, ten for a theatre in Rennes and others around Paris including some for different fountains like one at the Place de la Concorde.
