This first HD photo shows a sculpture surrounding a round window, sometimes referred to as a Bulls Eye, that was produced for one of the decorations on a wing of the former Palais du Louvre called the Pavillon Turgot, which was named La Commerce et la Paix, or in English, Commerce and Peace.
Now this particular sculpture of Commerce and Peace was produced by Georges Diebolt, who was born in Dijon in 1816 and initially studied drawing in his home town, before being admitted to the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris where he won the Prix de Rome in 1841, which led to many public commissions for different tourist attractions.
La Commerce et la Paix is one of no less than seven different statues and sculptures that Georges Diebolt was commissioned for on The Louvre, yet others by him can be found at the Pont des Invalides, Tour Saint Jacques and the Pont de l'Amla to name a few.
But if you wish to see this sculpture on the Pavillon Turgot, you would need to be looking at the facade from the courtyard of the Louvre Museum called the Cour Napoleon, as the other facade of the pavilion faces into the Cour du Carousel, and it surrounds the round window to the left hand side of the pillars and entrance.
