This first HD photo shows a statue called Les Beaux-arts, which is one of several depicting a young mythical winged child often referred to as a Genie or Genius, and it was sculpted in stone with features depicting the arts such as painting, music, etc.
You will find that the Fine Arts statue was produced by Henri Charles Maniglier who was born in Paris in 1826 and followed in his father's footsteps to become a French sculptor, entering the Ecole des Beaux Arts in 1843 and winning the Prix de Rome in 1856.
With his successes, Henri Charles Maniglier received many public commissions for statues and sculptures on tourist attractions such as the Hotel de Ville, Palais Garnier Opera House, Chateau de Chantilly and several for the Palais du Louvre, yet Henri Charles Maniglier also became a professor at the school where he studied, a post which he held until he passed away.
However, this photograph shows the location of the Beaux-arts statue, which was positioned on the balustrade of the third level by the roof line of the Aile Mollien, and when you are looking at the facade from the courtyard of the Louvre Museum called the Cour Napoleon, you will see that this is the sixth from the left hand side.
