A part of Paris city life are the amount of different events organised throughout the year, every year, whether it be different festivals, parades or celebrations such as the most famous Bastille Day event, but here you can see a big screen erected to show a temporary stadium for a sporting event, with the Eiffel Tower looming behind.

Now this sporting event, which was the World Streetball Championship was actually being held within a part of the Place de la Concorde and attracted absolutely thousands of people as you can no doubt tell, and we took this photo from the terrace of the Tuileries Gardens.
So here you can see three of the basketball players on the big screen, and on their shirts they have the name Quai54, and classed as the Quai 54 World Streetball Championship it is now recognised as the biggest, most competitive and most entertaining outdoor basketball even in the world that has been held in Paris every year since 2003.
Yet here you can see some of the temporary tents, portaloos and a part of the temporary stadium with its tiered seating for those lucky enough to get a first-hand experience of this major event that is now televised and has an online live feed to see teams from all over the world compete for the title of streetball champions.
This type of event shows the diversity that this city has to offer, and there are so many different events organised, there is sure to be something for everyone, and they are often held in impressive outdoor settings such as the Parc de Bercy, or like this one at the Place de la Concorde with its historical monuments including the Luxor Obelisk that you can see with it gilded point.
And this last photograph show the logo of the Quai 54 World Streetball Championship, which has not only become a renowned outdoor sporting event in Paris, but it also provides a basketball cultural aspect with live music performances and a Dunk Contest to keep the thousands of spectators happy.
