La Dame de Canton is an exact replica of a Chinese Junk and was constructed according to original drawings dating from the 1600s, and having seen continents such as Asia, the United States of America, Afrika etc, it is now permanently moored on the River Seine right by the Bibliotheque Francois-Mitterrand.

It all started back in the 1970s with two crazy young French men who made a bet to create an authentic replica of a traditional Chinese Junk, and the result is exact to the original plans from the 17th century, and although La Dame de Canton is permanently moored on the River Seine now, after completion it took to the seas and has seen several continents and over 40 countries.
