Located on the western side of the Jardins du Trocadero you can discover a bust statue dedicated to Paul Valery who was classed as a Manof Letters, being a poet, essayist and philosopher who also took an interest in arts, history, etc, and this photo was taken looking towards this in a north easterly direction.

In fact, it is quite fitting that a monument dedicated to Paul Valery would be found in the Trocadero Gardens, because when these were redesigned and the new Palais de Chaillot was constructed for the 1937 World Fair, it was this Man of Letters chosen for the inscriptions and quotes, which are in gilded lettering and located at the attic level of the two wings of the palace.
