This is a view looking in a south westerly direction over a part of the side garden of the Jardins du Trocadero that was designed to be split up into different areas and water features, yet behind, you can see the buildings that are located along the Rue le Tasse in Paris.

Ponds like you can see in this photograph along with randomly planted trees, shrubs and bushes are all design features of what has become recognised as an English style garden, which is what the French government and the emperor Napoleon III wanted to create within the city, rather than the formal French style that Paris was traditionally recognised for.
