In this photograph you can see a view looking in a north westerly direction up the sloping Jardins du Trocadero towards the Passy wing of the Palais de Chaillot, which holds museums such as the Musee de la Marine.

Originally there was a palace built called the Palais du Trocadero, yet this was destroyed and on the same foundations, the Palais de Chaillot was constructed for the 1937 Universal Exhibition in Paris, which was then named after the Hill of Chaillot where it stands at the top.
