Originally the Jardins du Trocadero had several different statues within it from when they were designed for the 1878 World Fair and the old Palais du Trocadero was constructed, including an elephant and horse, which can now be seen in the square in front of the Musee d'Orsay.

However, when the new palace called the Palais de Chaillot was constructed for the 1937 World Fair in Paris and the Trocadero Gardens were redesigned, numerous different statues and sculptures were produced including this bronze called Taureau et Daim, or in English Bull and Deer, which is a part of the internationally recognised Trocadero Fountain.
