While we were within the Jardins du Trocadero we took this photograph looking in a southerly direction over a part of the English styled grounds, towards the Eiffel Tower in the background, which is located on the opposite bank of the River Seine.

And although these gardens have become a popular tourist destination for impressive views of the Eiffel Tower, incredibly the Trocadero Gardens were originally laid out for the 1878 World Fair before the famous icon was even constructed for a later Universal Exhibition in Paris.
