Originally on the top of the Butte de Chaillot, which translates in English to Chaillot Hill, an impressive palace called the Palais du Trocadero was constructed for the 1878 Universal Exhibition, however, this was completely demolished and replaced by the Palais de Chaillot for the 1937 World Fair.

So when you are visiting the Trocadero Gardens today, you will see the Palais de Chaillot, and this is a view looking along a part of the wing on the north western side of the building with its creepers, ivy and other plants that are part of the gardens surrounding it.
