In fact, the Paris Aquarium was originally designed within the old underground quarries beneath the gardens and the former Palais du Trocadero for the 1878 World Fair, called the Exposition Universelle de 1878 in French, yet was renovated for the 1937 World Fair and again in far more recent times, now containing the largest aquarium water tank in France.
