The Chaillot area of Paris was once home to quarries, so some of the old stone and rocks are now a feature of the Jardins du Trocadero, and here you can see a view looking towards a monument called the Monument a la Amiral de Grasse positioned in front of this.

Yet the area was renamed Trocadero in commemoration of the Battle of Trocadero in the early part of the 1800s, where the French forces intervened after an uprising against the King of Spain and winning, the monarchy was restored, therefore the grounds took the name of the Trocadero Garden.
