HD photograph of L'Homme in Jardins du Trocadero looking south east - Page 44
While we were standing behind the statue of L'Homme within the Jardins du Trocadero in the 16th Arrondissement, located to the western side of the fountain, we took this photograph looking in a south easterly direction towards the Eiffel Tower on the opposite bank of the River Seine.

You will find that the name Trocadero, where the gardens and the Palais de Chaillot are now located, was named this in honour of the Battle of Trocadero, which was when an island in southern Spain was captured by French forces in 1823 and after the battle, King Ferdinand VII was restored to the Spanish throne.
