While we were within the Trocadero Gardens in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris, we took this photograph looking in a south westerly direction towards a small area on the western side of the garden with park benches surrounded by a well kept and trimmed hedge.

In fact, it was when Napoleon III was Emperor and the Prefect of the Seine was Baron Haussmann that new gardens and parks were developed for virtually every area of Paris, with the idea that locals had no further than approximately a ten minute walk in order to get to a green tranquil space, and the plan continued even after the fall of Napoleon III.
