The hill where you can enjoy the Jardins du Trocadero is referred to as the Butte de Chaillot and this is a view looking towards the upper part of the English garden section on the western side just below the pathway next to the wing of the Palais de Chaillot, sometimes referred to as the Passy Wing.

The name Trocadero, as the area became called, originates from when the French forces under the leadership of the Duc d'Angouleme won the Battle of Trocadero in 1823, when they came to the aid of Spain after a rebellion, with King Ferdinand VII being restored to the throne after this event.
