The first Hotel de Ville was started in the 1500s by King Francois I, but after a fire ravaged the building and destroyed the interior such as the historical library, it had to be reconstructed, which is the City Hall in Paris that you can see in this photo, and although it still contains a library, the historical library moved to the Hotel Lemoignon, but the grandeur of this building is even more elaborate than what it was before with its numerous statues including the equestrian statue shown in this image.
