Started by an entrepreneur called Larry Davis, who originally moved to Paris from New Mexico in 1999, the company provides private and tailor made experiences in Paris such as the horse and carriage rides and tours in a vintage Rolls Royce.
The horse and carriage, or horse and buggy as it would be known in American, is an elegant Burgundy carriage that has a lovely comfortable interior with blankets to keep you warm during the winter months and even a covered top in case of rain.
And this is pulled by a beautiful 6 year old black shire horse called Pride who will trot through the city street, and these private rides can cater for a maximum of four adults or two adults and up to three children.
However, there is also a white Landau and Cinderella carriage, which can be arranged for weddings and special occasions, great for those of you that would like to do something completely different and memorable while on your romantic holiday in the city of lights.
Now, there are different packages you can purchase and the first type of horse drawn carriage rides are known as Romance and as of 2015 the cost for a 1 hour tour is €199, but you can also can opt for one with champagne, and for an hour and a half it is €375 or 2 hours this will cost €470.
Another option is called the Proposal Rides and these are ideal for special occasions, especially if you would like a romantic way to propose to your loved one, and you can choose the 1 hour Alexandre III rout at a cost of €229 or the 90 minute Trocadero route which also includes champagne and a photographer for €575.
Additional options such as roses, different pick up or drop off points, champagne, or a 7pm start time can also be arranged with an additional supplement, plus lunch after your horse and carriage ride is something else that can be organised.
Access to Tours by Horse and Carriage in Paris
The office is located in the 7th Arrondissement only a few minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower on the Left Bank of the River Seine and it is situated opposite the Ecole Militaire, which is a military academy where Napoleon Bonaparte once studied.
You will find that the Experience Paris Horse and Carriage rides are available on a Wednesday through to the a Sunday and start plus end at the Eiffel tower, between the times of noon and 6pm.
Yet, as we mentioned above other start times along with drop off or pick up points can also be arranged for an additional cost, plus if you are a family with four children, then the fourth child can sit next to the horseman, and again this is an additional supplement to the normal costs mentioned earlier.
Now when it comes to reaching the offices of Experience Paris via public transport in Paris, due to its location, there are numerous different means of getting there, but the Ecole Militaire Metro stop is the closest via line 8.
Alternatively, you have the La Motte-Picquet - Grenelle stop via lines 6, 8 and 10, or the Champ de Mars - Tour Eiffel stop is for the RER trains via line C, plus the bus numbers 28, 80, 82, 87 and 92 will also get you close by, as will the l’OpenTour, which are one of the companies providing bus tours in Paris.
