This next close up photo we took shows just the top stone statue section of the column, which was sculpted in 1928 by the artist and sculptor Paul Landowski, and he designed the statue to depict Saint Genevieve, who is the Patron Saint of Paris.
In this photo you can see the south side of the pylon, which is approximately 14 metres in height and rests on the left bank pier at the cutwater of the Pont de la Tournelle, and at the top you can see the five metre high statue of Saint Genevieve.
Now this photo was taken while standing on the Pont de la Tournelle, and shows the west side of the pylon with its two support buttresses connecting to the bridge, along with a view showing the back of the Saint Genevieve statue on top.
When visiting the Saint Genevieve statue, the best views of this stone sculpture are on the south east side of Pont de la Tournelle, along the quay next to Port de la Tournelle on the left bank of the River Seine looking downstream as though you were heading towards the Ile de la Cite.
